Medical training: Jersey City Medical Centre

Achievements: Landed at Utah Beach in Normandy on D-Day and kept a detailed log of his work during the Second World War.

Anaesthetised over 600 people during the Second World War in the field, in evacuation hospitals and in general hospitals.

Chief of Anesthesia, St Joseph’s Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Started a school of nurse anaesthesia.

Interesting facts: He enlisted in the US army in 1942 and went to England in 1943, where he met Ivan Magill.
